30 Wonders started as a live blogging account of my trip to Middle East in early 2006 and has evolved to encompass most of my tribulations to different parts of the world.
Blogging is scarer nowadays but I intend on keeping recording interesting adventures with new pictures and entries.
I wrote the following in early 2006 and think that, while it might sound pompous to some, it is still very representative of what this site is all about.
This site is about my trip, my trips, our world, its wonders, my wonders…
It is about cultures, monuments, people, places, life…It is about a dream, a goal, a project, an idea that started a long time ago and cannot be left ignored any longer.
I think it started when I was 12 y/o and I fell in love with ancient Egypt and the pyramids thanks to one of the best history teacher I ever met. Or maybe it was some years later when I became addicted to the best video game ever, Civilization, and I started growing an interest in the world and especially the ancient world. Or maybe just because I feel like it.
Hum, well, I don’t know… is it that important after all?
At the end, it is just about me!
Yes, it might sound self centered but it is not. Well, at least not completely. I mean that whatever I describe or write, it is through my own biased reality, point of view and experience of the world so in this way, it is all about me.
